About Us

Creator and Managing Director Teach Health 4 Kids Judith Roberts, RGN, DPP, BA (Hons) Education & Training, P.G.C.E, Masters in Public Health

I have worked in promoting and protecting the health and wellbeing of children and young people for over 20 years. Prior to this time I worked as a Practice Nurse.

My health and education background has enabled me to work on a senior level supporting and advising education and health professionals on promoting and protecting the health and wellbeing of whole school communities.

I have over 20 years experience in developing and delivering training for teachers, school staff and health professionals. The main themes of the training provided have been sex and relationships education for primary, secondary and special schools, circle time, establishing whole school participation strategies, developing effective school councils, hygiene, staff health & wellbeing and whole school approaches to healthy eating.

I have presented at National and European conferences on subjects relating to children and young people’s health and wellbeing.

I have over 20 years experience in advising schools on aspects of Personal, Social and Health Education.

I have vast experience in sex and relationships education and promoting sexual health of young people. During my role as a Senior Public Health Practitioner I was instrumental in establishing contraceptive services within all secondary school drop-in clinics facilitated by School Nurses at a local County level as well as supporting professionals on emulating the process in other localities.

I have experience of providing advice and support on an all Wales basis in respect of sex and relationships education.

I have created evidence based interactive resources to support primary and special schools to deliver effective sex and relationships education. I presented my work at an European Schools for Health conference in Odense, Copenhagen. As a result I was invited to write an article for an international peer review journal, entitled, Health Education and was chosen to be one of only 6 articles published in a special issue on sexuality education. This article describes the development of the resources and the initial evaluation. It also demonstrates the impact of the interactive resources on the teaching and learning experiences of teachers and students.

I have experience in Safeguarding procedures and have a passion for ensuring children and young people are protected from harm. Evidence from using the interactive resources and the associated teaching strategy has demonstrated their effectiveness in promoting personal safety of children from sexual abuse in particular.

The Director of Teach Health 4 Kids is my husband Dylan. He has 38 years experience in primary education and has been a Head Teacher in various primary schools for over 30 years. He recently took early retirement as a primary school Head Teacher. However, he remains to work within the teaching profession by undertaking school inspections under the auspices of Estyn, Her Majesties’ Inspectorate for Education and Training in Wales.

During his career he placed great emphasis on safeguarding and issues surrounding health, wellbeing and personal education. His association with child protection matters has also contributed to the development of these innovative resources.

Dylan and I have nearly 80 years experience between us in educating, safeguarding and promoting health and wellbeing of children and young people.
